PERMISSIONS POST
Oct. 3rd, 2017 09:43 pmAlrighty SO! In canon Sonata (and her fellow Sirens, Aria and Adagio) is able to sing to do a few things.
The main one that is shown in Rainbow Rocks is using her song to make people hostile to each other (thus making them argue and fight) and then feeding off the negative emotions created by that. Which in turn can make her song stronger. (As it's mentioned in the film that the Sirens almost had all of Equestria under their spell before they ended up banished to the human world.)
The second one is singing to make people do what she wants. This is shown in the film when The Dazzlings (Adagio, Aria and Sonata) use a wordless vocalization to make Principal Celestia and Vice-Principal Luna let the heroes' band through to the finals.
So pretty much this post is here for anyone who would like to have their characters affected by either of the singing effects or have both effects be, well... Effective.
